Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to research into multi-zone ventilation models investigating significance of airtightness trends and ventilation options in terms of energy efficiency goals and the need to manage moisture.
• Research on aspects of buildings involving the physics of heat, air and moisture and gain understanding of the range of ventilation options available internationally for residential buildings and the criteria on which they are specified.
• Contribute to the development of updating relevant New Zealand Building Code clauses and assistance with review of IAQ/ventilation standards, as necessary.
• Contribute to FRST Indoor Environmental Modelling Programme to develop an indoor environmental model for testing products.

• Honours degree or higher in physical science or engineering, with a strong physics background.
• Background in both passive and mechanical ventilation in buildings would be a distinct advantage.
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work with a range of clients wanting applied research and information for commercial and policy requirements.
• Work with minimal supervision in a team environment and to lead small research and consultancy teams.
