The appointee will have a strong research background in a relevant area of evolutionary biology with application to medicine, anthropology or human biology, and will continue and develop this research programme in collaboration with existing groups in the Liggins Institute and its partner institutions.

The successful candidate will also play a key role in developing Evolutionary Medicine as an academic discipline within The University of Auckland by contributing to teaching in the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences and the School of Biological Sciences. An exceptional candidate could be appointed at a professorial level.
