PhD Scholarships in Physics

Description |
Two PhD scholarships in physics are offered for research into "Photonic and Solid State Materials for Next Generation Imaging and Sensing", and "Nanostructures and Composites for Radiation Detection and Imaging". The successful candidates will be primarily based at Industrial Research Ltd (a New Zealand Crown Research Institute), Wellington, New Zealand, and supervised by Dr. Grant Williams and other appropriate supervisors from Victoria University or Massey University.
Applicants should have a First-Class Honours Physics degree (or an equivalent 4-year degree qualification), or a Masters degree, and satisfy the Victoria University (http://www.victoria.ac.nz/international/planning/, for "Nanostructures and Composites for Radiation Detection and Imaging") or Massey University (http://www.massey.ac.nz/massey/international/fees/phd.cfm, for "Photonic and Solid State Materials for Next Generation Imaging and Sensing") requirements for PhD study. The scholarship provides a non-taxed living allowance of NZ$25,000 per annum plus the PhD tuition fee (up to NZ$ 5,000 per annum) for three years.
