Here is a great opportunity for a research technician to join a multidisciplinary forage breeding and seed science team based at AgResearch Lincoln.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic research technician with the ability to work well as a team member and independently to produce high quality science to tight deadlines to join the Forage Improvement team of our plant breeding and seed science programmes based at Lincoln. The successful applicant will join a team of established scientists and technical support and will participate in plant breeding (tall fescue, white clover hybrids, lucerne) and seed science research.

You will possess a tertiary qualification in agriculture or plant science or a related discipline and have experience working in field trials. Ideally you will have a good knowledge and demonstrate previous experience working in the areas raising and managing plants in a greenhouse; field management and sampling of plants, evaluating plants for key attributes and assessing plants for seed yield components and seed cleaning processes. Previous experience with using agriculture chemicals in trials, undertaking endophyte viability assessment, and some laboratory experience would be an advantage. The ability to collate and interpret experimental data and effectively communicate findings and conclusions to the science team will be essential.
